Floating Thoughts: Late summer edition
It’s been a while since I’ve posted any Floating Thoughts, so I thought I’d take this part of my last day of summer to do just that. Here goes:
- I’m really liking ScribeFire over Windows Live Writer right now. When you think about it, the most logical place to blog from is right within your web browser. ScribeFire has really come a long ways the last couple of years. Plus, it can put out a new post notification on Facebook.
- Went to the funeral of a coworker today. She was 39, and died a week shy of her 40th birthday. We start school again in a few days, so we’re going to be revisiting that issue when we come back.
- I’m playing in a new band these days. Just some old guys with instruments getting together to jam, but man is it fun.
- We’re starting our Professional Learning Communities (PLC’s) at school this year. We just had a district leadership team meeting this morning to kick all of that off. I’m excited, and I plan on blogging about it in the future. I love that we’re focused on student learning and are working to collaborate on how to make sure every one of these little buggers learn. Student success is school success.
- I am really digging that new Third Day album these days. I think I’ve just about burned a hole through it already.
- Getting a new puppy is rarely the dad’s idea.
- I am so pumped about the upcoming college football season. Ten days, two hours, thirty minutes, and 28 seconds until da Beavs open against Stanford. 26, 25, 24, 23…
- Add me on Facebook. You know you want to. Just posted a new pic of Susan and me at Multnomah Falls this last July.
